Gill Michael
Gill Michael is a semi professional artist that started painting 20 years ago as a hobby, mainly self taught and working for a living it took time for her to become proficient enough to exhibit her paintings and to take the plunge selling her work. Since 2011 she has sold over 200 paintings through local galleries, exhibitions and online. Gill's style tends to be very colourful and bright. "I love bold colour and drama, I take lots of photographs and use them as a basis for ideas, not copying religiously the picture in front of me but letting the paint and my hand dictate the final painting". Her subject matters tend to be landscape, seascape and animals, all painted in quirky “unnatural” colours. Gill Michael works with all mediums, her favourite mediums are watercolour, oil and pastel.
