Julie Ann

Julie Ann is an encaustic wax artist, who works from her studio in Bourne End, Hertfordshire. The pictures she creates are bright and vibrant, full of texture and interest. Julie has exhibited in Cornwall, Devon, Hertfordshire and London. Encaustic is a very versatile art form, allowing melted coloured beeswax to be manipulated into designs ranging from abstract through to fine portraiture, it’s origins date back over 2,000 years, used in early iconography and also by the Egyptians to create Fayum Mummy portraits. Encaustic has seen a resurgence in recent years, being very popular in the States, Canada and Australia, and is now becoming more widely known in the UK and Europe.
